Each year, the United States and Canada celebrate Thanksgiving Day as a national holiday. Families get together for a feast. Almost all families eat turkey, potatoes and cranberry sauce and have pumpkin pie for dessert.The origin of this celebration dates back to the year 1621.

POPPY DAY

Remembrance Day is on November 11th . This is a very special day because it marks the end of World War One in 1918 . The war officially ended at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month – that means 11:00 a.m. on November 11th.  Every year British people come together to remember those who died in wars across the world. People wear red poppies on their clothes.The red poppy became a symbol of Remembrance Day because they grew on the battlefields.
