Translation Day





 International Translation Day is celebrated every year on 30th September. Interpreters and translators have really important jobs and they deserve some recognition for what they do.

30th September is the feast day of St. Jerome, their patron saint . He translated the Bible into Latin.

POPPY DAY

Remembrance Day is on November 11th . This is a very special day because it marks the end of World War One in 1918 . The war officially ended at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month – that means 11:00 a.m. on November 11th.  Every year British people come together to remember those who died in wars across the world. People wear red poppies on their clothes.The red poppy became a symbol of Remembrance Day because they grew on the battlefields.
