 Spooky Halloween is here!!

Halloween,  All Hallows’ Eve, or All Saints’ Eve, is celebrated every year on the 31st of October by many people all over the world. The modern-day Halloween is said to have originated from the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, 'summer's end',  the date that marked the transition from autumn to winter. 

It was at this time of year that people believed the frontier line between the worlds of living and dead became thin on Samhain and was when the souls of the dead were said to revisit their homes.

POPPY DAY

Remembrance Day is on November 11th . This is a very special day because it marks the end of World War One in 1918 . The war officially ended at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month – that means 11:00 a.m. on November 11th.  Every year British people come together to remember those who died in wars across the world. People wear red poppies on their clothes.The red poppy became a symbol of Remembrance Day because they grew on the battlefields.
