Easter is a spring holiday. For Christians, it's a very important festivity which marks the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. For non-Christians is more a festival of spring and  new life with lots of symbols like eggs, chicks , flowers and rabbits. These symbols  go back to pagan traditions which celebrate fertility and rebirth after the long winter months.


Apart from chocolate eggs, hot cross buns are a traditional Easter recipe. Watch and learn how to make them:

POPPY DAY

Remembrance Day is on November 11th . This is a very special day because it marks the end of World War One in 1918 . The war officially ended at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month – that means 11:00 a.m. on November 11th.  Every year British people come together to remember those who died in wars across the world. People wear red poppies on their clothes.The red poppy became a symbol of Remembrance Day because they grew on the battlefields.
