Thanksgiving

 

 Thanksgiving is a big family celebration in Canada and North America.In the USA, it is celebrated on the fourth Thuursday of November. Yes, today!



The traditional dinner includes turkey with stuffing and cranberry sauce, sweetcorn and sweet potatoes.A delicious pumpkin pie is also eaten.

 And what about a pie in a pumpkin?

Remembrance Day is on November 11th . This is a very special day because it marks the end of World War One in 1918 . The war officially ended at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month – that means 11:00 a.m. on November 11th.  Every year British people come together to remember those who died in wars across the world. People wear red poppies on their clothes.The red poppy became a symbol of Remembrance Day because they grew on the battlefields.
