April Fool's Day

April Fool's Day is celebrated on 1 April in many countries around the world . It is a special day for tricks and practical jokes. It is all about having fun trying to make other people believe things that are not true . Yes, in this era of ‘fake news’ April Fools could be any day, I’m afraid.

The story behind April Fool’s day:

April Fool’s Day started in the sixteenth century in Europe. Before that time, New Year’s Day was celebrated on April 1st. Then the Gregorian calendar was introduced. January 1st became the first day of the year, but many people did not know about it. So those who continued to celebrate New Year’s Day on April 1st were called fools. Well, this is just the most popular theory.
