          19th JANUARY: THE SADDEST DAY OF THE YEAR?


Blue Monday is a name given to a day in January (typically the third Monday of the month) that is claimed to be the most depressing day of the year. This idea started because people usually feel a bit "blue" (sad) due to the cold winter weather, the end of the holiday season, and the struggle to keep New Year’s resolutions. Although it is more a marketing concept than a scientific fact.

e.g. My sister lives on the other side of the world. I see her once in a blue moon.

POPPY DAY

Remembrance Day is on November 11th . This is a very special day because it marks the end of World War One in 1918 . The war officially ended at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month – that means 11:00 a.m. on November 11th.  Every year British people come together to remember those who died in wars across the world. People wear red poppies on their clothes.The red poppy became a symbol of Remembrance Day because they grew on the battlefields.
