Who is Shakira?

She is a highly talented singer, songwriter, musician and dancer, born in Barranquilla (Colombia), who has built a successful career in both Spanish- and English-speaking markets. Her voice and her dance moves are unique.
Shakira describes herself as a ‘she-wolf’ (Loba in Spanish)— a symbol of feminine strength, independence and wild artistic freedom.

In September, Shakira kicked off a massive 12-concert residency in Madrid. Every weekend, tens of thousands of fans gather to watch her perform. To make these concerts even more special, Shakira has been inviting surprise guest artists onto the stage, including Alejandro Sanz, Laura Pausini, Manuel Turizo and even Dua Lipa, who joined her to perform a historic duet of ‘Antología’.

Remembrance Day is on November 11th . This is a very special day because it marks the end of World War One in 1918 . The war officially ended at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month – that means 11:00 a.m. on November 11th.  Every year British people come together to remember those who died in wars across the world. People wear red poppies on their clothes.The red poppy became a symbol of Remembrance Day because they grew on the battlefields.

                                                                       5 th November : Bonfire Night , a.k.a. Guy Fawkes Day. It is celebrated in the UK, and in other countries that were formerly part of the British empire, with f ireworks , parades and bonfires with ragdolls which are burnt on the fire. But, who was Guy Fawkes ?  Guy Fawkes was the man that tried and failed to kill the king  James Iand blow up the Houses of Parliament in the 16th century.
